Run Wild! Rabies Free Africa 5k
Where: VIRTUAL - you can walk, jog or run anywhere!
When: May 22-25, 2026
We are so excited to be hosting Run Wild! Rabies Free Africa 5K, in support of Rabies Free Africa. This is a VIRTUAL race and we’d love for you to support an important cause and join us!
In June 2025, Dr. McIntosh traveled to Africa to assist with rabies vaccination campaigns, witnessing firsthand the life-saving impact of this work. Rabies is 100% preventable, yet it still claims an estimated 60,000 lives each year, nearly half of them children. Once symptoms appear, it’s almost always fatal.
Thanks to programs like Rabies Free Africa, millions of vaccines have been administered, protecting both animals and communities.
For our virtual 5K, you can run, walk, or jog anywhere during the weekend of on May 22-25. Every registration helps support global efforts to eliminate dog-mediated human rabies deaths by 2030. Thank you for helping us make a difference, locally and globally.

Supporting Our Local Student Athletes
We’re proud to announce our partnership with Pikes Peak Christian School, located near our practice, as an Athletic Sponsor! Polo Springs Veterinary Hospital has been serving the Colorado Springs community for nearly 20 years, and we’re excited to support young community members in their athletic pursuits through this new initiative.
We believe that active, healthy lifestyles often lead to active, healthy pets. That’s why we encourage pet owners to bring their furry companions in for a physical exam—so we can help ensure they’re feeling their best and living happy, healthy lives.
